AH24  The Blue Lagoon & Golden Circle Afternoon All year round

Highlights:
  • The Blue Lagoon
  • Þingvellir National Park
  • Gullfoss waterfall
  • Geysir hot spring area

Tour Description:

This combination of tours AH29 The Blue Lagoon and AH11 Golden Circle Afternoon is recommended for those who don’t have much time but still want to make the most of their day.

We visit the Blue Lagoon, a unique geothermal spa situated in a lava field south of Reykjavík. Once there you have many recreational options such as walking in the Blue Lagoon’s spectacular surroundings or bathing in the milky blue-green water.

At 12:00 we continue back to Reykjavík to join our Golden Circle Afternoon tour, which leaves Reykjavík at 13:00. We start by visiting Þingvellir, a geologically remarkable place where the Icelandic parliament Alþingi was founded in the year 930 AD. The site was used for Parliament gatherings up until the 20th century, and the area is renowned for its historical significance and geological wonders.

We continue on to  the majestic and beautiful Gullfoss glacial waterfall and onwards to the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur. We travel over the mountain heath Hellisheiði back to the capital.

Please note:  Entrance fee to the Blue Lagoon bathing area is not icluded in the tour price.

Great day trip! The blue lagoon is so relaxing. The day we went thee were 35 km/h winds and it was snowing/raining, but the water was warm! We had a great guide and there was a lot of time to spend at each of the sites.

This was a really enjoyable tour. It was well organised and very good value for money.

Hi. we enjoyed both tour but thought that it would be good if the bus driver can send us back to our hotel at Metropolitan Hotel instead of leaving us to walk back to hotel from the Iceland Excursions Sales office especially we have to rush off to the Northern light excursion that evening after going back to hotel to have a shower. The Northern Light excursion finished till very early hours (1+ am) of that night (25/3) and the bus driver did not send us back to our hotel but let us alight at the sales office too and we had to walk in the late of night. I would like to compliment the guide for 26/3 for the Northern Light excursion (since we didn't get to see Northern light on 25/3) whereby the guide was very hardworking. She was enthusiastically telling us about Iceland and history throughout the whole trip and even arrange a small bus to send a group of us back to our hotels. Well done. Pls let her know that we appreciate. Thank you.

Thank you for your review and comments. Unfortunately the larger buses cannot enter the narrow streets in the downtown area and since the Metropolitan is only 5 minute walk away from our offices it is easier to walk rather than wait for the smaller shuttle buses reaching the area and can that take much longer than the walking to the hotel. Our streets are safe in the evening and we would not send our passengers out on their own if they were not. So glad you enjoyed your tours with us.
