Proven once again, Iceland is truly the land of fire and ice. The people of Iceland are used to the forces of nature, since there have been constant reports of volcanic activities throughout the history of our beautiful island.For the second time this year a volcanic eruption has started, now in the glacier with the name that no one can say – Eyjafjallajökull.To see a volcanic eruption is something most people don‘t have a chance to many times in their lives (except if you are an Icelander!).Join us on a tour for a unique experience. Our super trucks take you along the south shore where we stop so that passengers get a chance to take some ash of the volcano as a souvenir with them. From there we drive to Fljotslhlid, where we stop to view the volcanic activity at a safe distance away from the eruption.

 

Our guides give you a good overview of the geology of the area and about volcanic eruptions.We will be travelling on gravel roads for the last part of this tour, making it necessary to have our 4wd super trucks to take you safely to our view point.Please note that some parts of the area surrounding the volcano are closed but we will ONLY go where it is allowed to be, ensuring our passengers safety.We reserve the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of this tour depending on weather and road conditions. New departures will be added as long as the eruption continues but we reserve the right to discontinue the tour when the eruption stops.
