Tour Description:

This tour is a combination of the following tours:

It is ideal for those that want to see as much as possible in just one long day. It gets you in close contact with one of Iceland’s glaciers, shows you some of the history of the island and some of the most popular sights of Iceland in the glow of the evening sun.

We start our journey by driving along the shores of Hvalfjörður (the whaling fjord). On the northern shores we visit the whaling station, which is still in operation and then head to the Settlement Center in Borgarnes.

After visiting one of the exhibitions at the settlement center we continue to Fossatún, where we will have our lunch break (not included in the tour price). From there we head to Reykholt to view the exhibition at Snorrastofa. Our next stop is at the geothermal area of Deildartunguhver. From there we head to the waterfalls of Barnafoss and Hraunfossar and then over the pass of Kaldidalur to the Langjökull glacier. We stop at Jaki for a walk towards the glacier. Then we continue to Þingvellir National Park, where we meet and join the Golden Circle Evening tour.

We visit Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir geothermal area before we head back to Reykjavík.

Was a long day, but the guide I had for the majority of the day (The Silver Circle portion of the tour) was amazing and showed us absolutely beautiful scenery. I was wonderful to have the Sagas as a background before doing the remainder of the tour, as it helped me understand the history and culture of the Icelandic people. Perfect for people who want to see the country but do not have a ton of time!

Thank you so much for offering this tour! We were thrilled to be able to put a few of the tours we wanted to do into one! Our driver for most of the day was Erlinger and he was fantastic. Not only did we see amazing Icelandic scenery, we also were able to be well informed on history and our natural surroundings. We cannot say enough great things about this tour and will suggest it to all of our friends and family when they travel to Iceland. Thank you again. Jessica & Rachel Cook, USA.
